Jesy Nelson has spoken candidly about her split from fiancé Zion Foster, revealing the emotional pressure they faced following the serious health diagnosis of their twin daughters.
The 34-year-old singer confirmed that the relationship came to an end after the couple endured an intensely difficult period in their lives, following the diagnosis of their baby girls, Ocean and Story, with a rare genetic condition.
Jesy explained that the experience placed enormous emotional strain on both of them, saying it became increasingly difficult to cope as a couple while navigating hospital visits, uncertainty, and constant emotional pressure.
In a recent interview, she admitted the situation changed everything between them.
“It’s one of those things… you’re either a team, or it can pull you apart,” she said. “It’s not really a shock that things changed. We went through something incredibly traumatic.”
Despite the breakup, Jesy was clear that there is no hostility between them, emphasising that their focus remains entirely on their children.
“There’s no bad feeling,” she added. “We still get on. My priority is the girls. I just want to be the best mum I can be for them.”
The couple’s journey has been widely followed since they first began dating in 2022, with an on-and-off relationship that later led to their engagement in 2025.
However, their lives changed dramatically after their twin daughters were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a serious and rare medical condition requiring ongoing care and support.
Jesy has previously spoken about the emotional toll of learning her daughters’ diagnosis, describing it as one of the most overwhelming experiences of her life.
Zion also shared at the time that he felt “out of his depth” and struggling to process the situation while trying to support his family.
Now, Jesy says the breakup is a reflection of how difficult the journey has been, rather than a single defining moment.
She continues to focus on her daughters and their care, while also navigating life as a new mother under intense public attention.
