The Chase is about to get its biggest twist yet.
ITV has officially confirmed that The Chase Around the World will premiere on Thursday, July 16, introducing an exciting new version of the hugely popular quiz show that takes the competition far beyond the studio.
The six-part series will see six teams of contestants travel across the globe in an attempt to track down the legendary Chasers, who will be waiting in secret international locations. Combining fast-paced trivia with the thrill of adventure, the new format promises a fresh challenge unlike anything viewers have seen before.
Host Bradley Walsh believes the spin-off offers a completely new experience while keeping everything fans love about the original series.
“This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants’ knowledge like never before,” he said.
He also teased that viewers can expect to see the Chasers in spectacular destinations around the world, adding another exciting layer to the competition.
The new series is the first major production from Bright Entertainment, whose Managing Director Lily Wilson described the programme as a natural evolution of one of television’s most successful quiz formats.
Following the release of the first trailer, excitement quickly spread across social media.
Many fans flooded Instagram with enthusiastic reactions, with one writing, “So excited to watch this!” Another commented, “Can’t wait to see it,” while others predicted the series “looks like it’s going to be good.”
Not everyone was convinced when the spin-off was first announced earlier this year. Some longtime viewers questioned whether ITV should focus on refreshing the original programme instead of launching a new format.
