Pete Wicks has finally opened up about his romance with Olivia Attwood — and his surprisingly tender confession may have revealed more than any loved-up photograph ever could.
After weeks of speculation, romantic getaways and increasingly affectionate appearances together, the former TOWIE star, 37, recently took a step few expected: he made Olivia Instagram official.
Now, speaking publicly about their relationship, Pete has admitted just how much he missed the 35-year-old while they were separated for two and a half weeks.
“I hadn’t seen Liv for two and a half weeks, so went to see Liv,” he revealed.
“It was wonderful to see her… I really missed her and it was lovely.”
The pair reunited in Ibiza after Olivia had been away filming, enjoying what Pete described as a “magical” few days filled with romantic dinners, nights out, boat trips and plenty of fun.
“It was magical, is probably the best way to describe it,” he said.
And while Pete managed to hurt his back after enthusiastically backflipping off boats, it was what happened away from the water that really caught fans’ attention.
From ‘worst kept secret’ to Instagram official
Pete stunned followers when he shared a string of affectionate Ibiza photographs with Olivia, marking a rare public declaration about his romantic life.
His cheeky caption said it all:
“I guess someone has to go first… IBIZA.”
The timing was particularly interesting.
Only hours earlier, Olivia had admitted she “had a person” and jokingly described their romance as the “worst kept secret” — but insisted she would not be the first to hard-launch anyone online.
“I’m keeping it very close to my chest at the moment while I know what it is,” she explained, adding: “I’m not f***ing hard launching anyone first.”
Pete clearly got the message.
Hours later, there they were — together on his Instagram.
His close friend Sam Thompson could hardly believe it, joking that he “never thought” he would see the day Pete publicly hard-launched a relationship before adding that he could not be happier for him.
Sam later revealed he had known about the romance “for a while.”
100 red roses — and plenty of clues
Even before Pete made things official online, the clues were becoming impossible to ignore.
Olivia revealed that she received an enormous bouquet of 100 red roses at her Ibiza hotel, while the pair had also been seen sharing affectionate moments during their glamorous getaway.
They enjoyed romantic dinners, boat trips and nights out, with Pete appearing increasingly comfortable showing his affection publicly.
Olivia joked about having “roses coming” and someone “grabbing my arse on beaches,” while still admitting she wanted to protect herself emotionally as she worked out exactly what their relationship meant.
The romance comes after Olivia’s split from Bradley Dack earlier this year.
Speculation surrounding Pete and Olivia had begun much earlier after photographs showed them looking close during a previous Ibiza trip. Olivia later insisted that despite appearances, “nothing happened” between them at that time.
In recent months, however, their connection has become far more obvious.
They were spotted sharing kisses during a trip to St Tropez before Ibiza finally delivered the moment fans had been waiting for.
Pete went public.
‘I really missed her’
For all the glamorous holidays, kisses and 100 red roses, Pete’s simplest confession may be the most revealing.
“I really missed her.”
After two and a half weeks apart, he travelled to Ibiza to reunite with Olivia — and returned describing their time together as “magical.”
For a man known for keeping his relationships relatively guarded, that feels significant.
Olivia had made one thing clear: she was not going to hard-launch first.
Pete did.
And now, after months of whispers and speculation, showbusiness’s “worst kept secret” appears to be a secret no more.
