Jasmine Harman Admits She’s ‘Secretly Loving’ One Unexpected Perk of Surgery Recovery as Husband Jon Takes Over at Home

Jasmine Harman may have been forced to slow down following a recent hernia operation, but the A Place in the Sun presenter has admitted there is one unexpected part of her recovery that she is “secretly quite enjoying” — having husband Jon Boast take care of everything.

The 50-year-old TV star has been taking time away from her usual busy routine after undergoing a minor surgical procedure, with doctors advising her to rest and avoid lifting while her body heals.

And although being told to take things easy has not come naturally to the energetic presenter, Jasmine has revealed that life in recovery does come with at least one rather enjoyable advantage.

In a light-hearted video shared with her followers, Jasmine was seen enjoying a gentle walk along the beach with Jon and their dog, Astro.

Explaining that walking was about as adventurous as she was currently allowed to be, she joked that her temporary restrictions had resulted in a major change at home.

“But it’s quite good actually because basically, I’ve got Jon doing everything for me,” she teased.

Jon immediately responded with a joke of his own, suggesting that perhaps the arrangement was not quite as unusual as Jasmine was making out.

The playful exchange continued as Jasmine explained that even everyday household jobs were temporarily off limits.

She revealed that she could not carry things such as laundry baskets upstairs, meaning Jon had been left to take on even more responsibilities while she recovered.

And it appears Jasmine is not exactly complaining.

Sharing an update with fans, she admitted: “I’m secretly quite enjoying having Jon look after me.”

She then added a sweet nod to their marriage vows: “In sickness and in health eh!?”

Jasmine shares encouraging recovery update

Despite having to significantly reduce her usual activity levels, Jasmine reassured followers that her recovery was progressing well.

She explained that she was “getting better” and hoped to have her stitches removed soon, with the expectation that she would gradually be able to return to normal life in the coming weeks.

The presenter also thanked fans for the many supportive messages she had received since revealing her operation.

“Thanks so much for all of your messages wishing me a speedy recovery,” she wrote.

“I’m doing well and taking it slowly.”

For viewers accustomed to seeing Jasmine travelling, filming and maintaining an active lifestyle, the enforced period of rest represents a noticeable change of pace.

But she appears determined to follow medical advice — even if sitting still is proving to be something of a challenge.

‘Any kind of surgery knocks the wind out of your sails’

Jasmine first revealed that she had undergone surgery on May 25, explaining why she had been quieter than usual and why her normal routine had suddenly been put on hold.

Speaking candidly to followers, she explained that she would ordinarily have been attending her regular Zumba class if she was not away working.

This time, however, exercise was firmly off the agenda.

Jasmine revealed that she had undergone what she described as a “little hernia operation”, reassuring fans that the procedure was not for anything serious.

Nevertheless, she acknowledged that even relatively minor surgery can have a surprisingly significant effect on the body.

“Although it’s a small procedure, any kind of surgery really knocks the wind out of your sails,” she explained.

As a result, Jasmine was given a couple of weeks away from work and strict instructions to allow herself time to recover properly.

For someone accustomed to a packed schedule, that meant embracing a very different routine: comfortable clothes, early nights, gentle movement — and temporarily saying goodbye to Zumba.

Forced to embrace a slower pace

Jasmine admitted that slowing down does not come easily to her.

Like many people with busy careers and family lives, the television presenter is used to constantly moving from one responsibility to the next.

But her operation has forced her to temporarily change that mindset.

Rather than rushing back into work or exercise, she has been taking the opportunity to rest, recover and enjoy a quieter few weeks with her family.

And judging by her playful exchanges with Jon, the couple have managed to find plenty of humour in the situation.

Their beachside video showed Jasmine in good spirits as the pair joked about Jon’s expanded household duties — offering fans a warm glimpse into their relationship away from the cameras.

What could have been a frustrating period of enforced inactivity has instead become an opportunity for Jasmine to slow down and allow herself to be looked after.

And perhaps Jon should enjoy — or prepare himself for — his new role while it lasts.

Jasmine expects to be back to her normal routine soon.

Until then, however, she seems perfectly happy to follow the doctor’s orders, take those gentle walks and let her husband handle the laundry baskets.

After all, as Jasmine herself admitted, being looked after might just be the unexpected silver lining of recovery.
