A HEARTBREAKING RETURN, A ‘PERFECT’ NEW FATHER FIGURE, AND A SICKENING ULTERIOR MOTIVE?!

Although the chaotic sports scheduling has pretty much calmed down now, ITV still has a Sunday episode of Coronation Street airing tomorrow, and we’ve got a clip.

In the scene, Sam Blakeman returns to the Cobbles after being hospitalised and diagnosed with schizophrenia, and it’s safe to say he’s nervous.

“It was so easy to believe it’s a temporary thing, because hospitals are temporary,” Sam confides in Leanne about his condition.

“But now I’m back here, I just have to get on with my life. I have to accept that it’s a thing that’s going to be with me forever.”

“Yeah, but we’ve got medicine”, Leanne tries to reassure him. “You can lead a normal life.”

“Maybe, but I don’t really know what ‘normal’ means anymore”, Sam admits, but Leanne tells him that “We’ll figure it out. All of us. Together.”

Sam then asks about Leanne’s new boyfriend, Idris Nazir, and wonders when he can meet him.

Leanne says she hadn’t planned anything as she “didn’t wanna overwhelm” him, but Sam really wants to.

“Sooner I figure out what the new normal is, the better”, he explained.

Upcoming scenes will see Sam bond with Idris, as he opens up about how he worries that people will see him differently following his diagnosis.

“Sam tells Idris about his fears that people think he’s mentally unstable, and Idris opens up to Sam about his own memories of teenage anxiety”, says our soap source. “Afterwards, Sam tells his dad Nick that he feels much better – but Idris has bigger fish to fry…”
