Carmella Garcia was accused of kicking the ex-girlfriend of her now-husband, Jeff Garcia, at a bar in 2004 due to cheating.
Amid the 43-year-old real estate agent and former Playboy Playmate of the Year’s addition to the Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 cast, news of her past bar fight has resurfaced, revealing that she got into a fight with a woman named Kristen Hine, with whom Jeff, 56, allegedly cheated on her.
TMZ confirmed that multiple outlets had reported on the August 21, 2004 incident, which occurred at Tramp nightclub.
Although Carmella’s Bravo bio describes her as “a self-proclaimed ‘girls’ girl,’” she and Kristen had allegedly exchanged nasty phone calls and threatening voicemails before Kristen accused Carmella of grabbing a dance pole and kicking her in the head at the bar.
As for Carmella, she said she didn’t kick Kristen, but one of her friends, because they were “coming at [her] full-force, swinging like a guy.” Jeff supported her story, saying that she did not kick Kristen and that she was only acting in defense of herself.
“It’s embarrassing that I am here today, to be caught up in a situation like this,” Jeff said in court.
In the end, Carmella was acquitted of the misdemeanor assault charge, but she was found guilty of violating a protection order that Kristen seemingly filed against her. She was also ordered to 24 hours of community service, a year of probation, and a $150 fine.
