Alan Carr is just days away from receiving the keys to his new £3.25 million Scottish castle, which he plans to renovate for a brand new TV show. The 49-year-old comedian, who became a fan favorite after winning Celebrity Traitors, has recently purchased Ayton Castle, a sprawling 17-bedroom estate complete with a private chapel, five-storey tower, and 106 acres of gardens.

Carr has signed a seven-figure deal with Disney+ to document the entire renovation process in a new series. The show, tentatively titled Castle Man, is set to take inspiration from his time at Ardross Castle, the filming location for Celebrity Traitors. Alan’s ultimate goal? To turn the castle into a luxurious hotel and spa, all while embracing his new title as Baron of Ayton.

“I’ve always dreamed of owning a castle,” Alan said. “Some men buy a Lamborghini, some men grow a ponytail during a midlife crisis, but me? I want my very own castle.”

The TV star humorously noted his excitement for the project, joking that he’s entering his “turret era” at 50. The comedian also revealed his plans to get his own tartan and further solidify his baronial status.

Despite the excitement, Alan has encountered some resistance from locals, as the grand plans have raised concerns regarding public access to the castle grounds. A meeting to inform residents about the renovation plans had to be postponed due to the overwhelming number of attendees. For now, the community is submitting questions to the council while Alan eagerly awaits the start of his ambitious project.
