Alyssa Farah Griffin, the co‑host of The View and former White House communications director, has opened up about the joy of welcoming her first child and the meaningful story behind his name.
On February 10, Griffin and her husband, Justin Griffin, welcomed a healthy baby boy into their family. They named him Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., a tribute to his father and a name chosen with deep love and significance.
Griffin, 36, shared an exclusive first photo of her son with People magazine, announcing that both mom and baby are doing well. The couple tied the knot in November 2021, and the arrival of Justin Jr. marks a long‑awaited and deeply emotional moment for the pair.
The journey to parenthood was not without challenges. Griffin revealed during her pregnancy announcement last year that she and Justin had been trying to conceive for two years, undergoing five rounds of in‑vitro fertilization (IVF). During that process, she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition that can make pregnancy more difficult. Despite the struggles, Griffin said the support of her husband was unwavering, and their shared determination helped carry them through the hard times.
Speaking about becoming a mother, Griffin expressed immense gratitude and excitement. She said she always hoped to have a son and is looking forward to embracing “boy mom” life, even joking about being outnumbered at home with two male dogs before her son’s arrival.
Since the birth, Griffin took maternity leave from The View, with a rotation of guest co‑hosts stepping in. The show’s cast celebrated her happy news on air when it was announced that she had gone into labor early.
As she and her husband adjust to life as new parents, fans and colleagues alike have flooded the couple with congratulations. For Griffin, the name Justin Patrick Griffin Jr. carries both affection and legacy – a heartfelt nod to the love story that brought him into the world.
