Amy Childs has shared devastating news with her followers, revealing that her cousin’s five-month-old daughter, Lila, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour.
The former TOWIE star took to Instagram to inform her fans about the heartbreaking situation, urging them to support a fundraiser set up for the infant.
A Family’s Unimaginable Pain
Amy, a mother of four, posted a screenshot of her cousin Hannah Brincat’s JustGiving page, calling for donations and support for baby Lila. She wrote: “Please, if you can, help support my cousin’s beautiful daughter Lila. She’s fighting so hard, and every donation makes a difference. Even sharing this means a lot. Thank you all so much.”
Lila, who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called AT/RT (Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumour), was only three weeks old when the family received the devastating news. AT/RT is a fast-growing tumour that primarily affects the brain or spinal cord of very young children, and the prognosis is often grim.

A Brave Little Girl Fighting for Her Life
Lila’s mother, Hannah, has described her daughter as a “brave girl” who has endured unimaginable challenges in her short life. Just after her diagnosis, Lila underwent a gruelling nine-hour brain surgery. At only five weeks old, she began chemotherapy in a desperate attempt to fight the disease.
Despite undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, the family’s hopes were shattered when doctors informed them that the tumour had returned. The heartbreaking news left the family “out of options,” and they were forced to live in the hospital for months, separated from their other children, before moving into a children’s hospice.
“Our lives have been turned upside down. We are devastated,” Hannah wrote. The pain of watching their daughter endure so much has been unimaginable for the entire family.
A Final Plea for Hope
In a desperate search for more treatment options, Hannah and her family reached out to a specialist oncologist in Toronto, who is leading research into the rare tumour. While they do not yet know whether further treatment will be possible or what the cost could be, they are holding onto hope. “Time is not on our side,” she added.
To help cover potential medical costs, a GoFundMe page has been set up. If the funds are not needed for treatment, Hannah reassured supporters that the donations would be directed to charities that have supported the family throughout their ordeal.
As of Thursday, March 5, the fundraiser has raised £24,380 of its £25,000 goal, with the family expressing their heartfelt gratitude for the generosity of those who have already donated.
