Carson Daly Shares His Dating Dealbreaker For His Kids: ‘Am I Going To Get Canceled For That?’

Carson Daly got candid about his thoughts on dating dealbreakers for his children while guest co-hosting Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on May 18. The 52-year-old TV personality shared his humorous, yet pointed opinion about the importance of food in his family, especially with his wife Siri Pinter Daly being a chef.

Discussing the topic with co-host Jenna Bush Hager, Daly joked that a future partner being vegan might be a dealbreaker. “The only reservation I would have for my kids would be, like, a vegan or something like that maybe…” he began, before producers’ laughter prompted him to cover his mouth, quipping, “Is that bad to say? Am I gonna get canceled for that?”

He clarified that his concern isn’t about allergies, but about picky eaters potentially disrupting the family’s Sunday meals: “Food is, like, a really important part of the fabric of our family… If one of them brought home a date who was super picky… I’ve got a Traeger [smoker], bro,” Daly said.

He also acknowledged that health concerns like gluten allergies are perfectly fine, adding with a laugh, “I don’t wish illness on the boyfriends… I’m just saying it would suck if they came into the house on Sunday and we were gonna do a big Daly feast of pizzas and they were like, ‘I can’t eat anything.’ I would just be like, ‘He’s a loser.’”

Daly and Pinter share son Jackson, 17, and daughters Etta, 13, London, 11, and Goldie, 6. While Jenna advised him to keep his opinions private, Daly admitted with humor, “I don’t think I can hold it in… don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.”
