Andrea McLean has opened up about the unwavering support of her third husband, Nick Feeney, during one of the most challenging periods of her life. The Loose Women star, 56, faced crippling debts after a failed business venture forced her to sell her £1 million Surrey home and move into rented accommodation.

After leaving the ITV daytime show in November 2020, Andrea had hoped to launch her wellness platform, This Girl Is On Fire, only to be left with financial turmoil. She admitted to feeling a deep sense of “shame” over her money troubles, but stressed that the hardships strengthened her marriage with Nick.

The former TV presenter married Nick in 2017, her third marriage following unions with childhood sweetheart Nick Green (2000–2005) and TV presenter Steve Toms (2009–2012). Andrea reflected: “I lost my home, my pension, all my savings. We maxed out credit cards, there was so little in my bank account—it was minus. I was selling furniture to pay for groceries. Bailiffs were at the door. I even applied for jobs in coffee shops, clothes shops, and office roles.”

Praising Nick’s steadfast presence, Andrea shared with The Mirror: “It doesn’t sound very romantic, but to have someone who is the first person you tell great news to, or the first person you vent to after missing your train—that is love. We sit in silence at night and send each other funny memes on our phones. That is literally our love language.”
After selling her mansion and enduring a discouraging meeting with investors where she was told her “star had faded,” Andrea launched a media coaching business to regain stability. But in 2024, she suffered a terrifying health scare, falling severely ill with sepsis and pneumonia. Doctors warned that a delay in hospital care could have been fatal. She recalled lying on the floor for over an hour before Nick found her, and was rushed to hospital where scans revealed severe pneumonia, acute kidney injury, and sepsis.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Andrea said: “It was only a few weeks after I got home that I realised the magnitude of what had happened—if I hadn’t gone into hospital that day, I may not be here now.” She credited Nick for his dedication during her recovery, noting that he drove her to appointments, waited hours at clinics, cooked meals, and cared for her around the clock.
Despite the financial and health challenges, Andrea’s story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering partnership, showing that true support can turn even the hardest times into a testament of strength.
