Bradley Walsh Reveals the Unexpected Moment That Made The Chase Around The World Truly Unforgettable

The Chase is leaving the studio behind—and this time, the adventure is bigger than ever.
After 17 years inside the familiar walls of Elstree Studios, Bradley Walsh is taking ITV’s hit quiz show across Europe in an exciting new spin-off, The Chase Around The World, where contestants will race through iconic cities, solve cryptic clues, and battle against the famous Chasers for a life-changing £100,000 prize.
But while viewers can expect breathtaking locations and intense competition, Bradley says one magical moment during filming completely stole his heart.
Bradley Walsh Shares the Surprise Memory He’ll Never Forget
Speaking ahead of the show’s premiere, Bradley admitted filming on location was unlike anything he had experienced during nearly two decades hosting The Chase.

“I would describe it as The Chase… but around the world! It’s out and about,” he said.

“It was very different doing it on location, in these incredible places, instead of being in a studio. I’ve been locked in Elstree Studios for 17 years!”Six pairs will be taking on the challenge (Credit: ITV)
Among all the stunning destinations, one unforgettable experience stood out above the rest.
During filming at Piz Gloria, the famous Swiss Alps summit featured in the James Bond classic On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Bradley and the crew stopped for lunch when something extraordinary happened.
“What made it extra special was that we were sitting having some lunch there when, all of a sudden, these people, who had just been up there visiting, started singing this yodelling-type song,” he recalled.
“And they just sat there singing. It was amazing!”

A Brand-New Twist on The Chase
Rather than standing behind podiums answering rapid-fire questions, six teams of two will travel across Europe, racing against one another while solving quiz questions, puzzles and cryptic clues created by The Chasers.
Each challenge helps guide contestants through famous landmarks as they attempt to reach Bradley waiting at the finish line.
However, finishing last comes with serious consequences.
The slowest team must face off against The Chasers in a high-pressure question battle. Winning keeps them in the competition—and even earns them a valuable advantage in the next round. Losing means their journey ends immediately.
Six Stunning European Destinations
The adventure begins in Rome, where Anne Hegerty and Mark Labbett launch the competition before sending contestants onward through:
  • Athens, Greece
  • Paris, France
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Piz Gloria, Switzerland
Each destination introduces fresh challenges, iconic scenery and increasingly difficult puzzles as the race intensifies.
Meet the Teams Competing for £100,000
Six pairs are taking on the challenge:
  • Nicola and Maddie (mother and daughter)
  • Kati and Amy (sisters)
  • Dilan and Emily (newly engaged couple)
  • David and Steven (father and son)
  • Matt and Cerys (friends)
  • Ashwin and Nikita (father and daughter)
Only one team will walk away with the grand prize of £100,000.
Every Chaser Is Along for the Ride
Fans won’t miss any familiar faces, as all six Chasers are joining Bradley for the adventure:
  • Anne Hegerty – The Governess
  • Mark Labbett – The Beast
  • Paul Sinha – The Sinnerman
  • Jenny Ryan – The Vixen
  • Shaun Wallace – The Dark Destroyer
  • Darragh Ennis – The Menace
Each week, the eliminated team will come face-to-face with one or more of the quiz legends in a tense final showdown.
When Does The Chase Around The World Premiere?
The six-part series premieres at 9pm on Thursday, July 16, 2026, on ITV1, with episodes also available to stream on ITVX.
