Rebecca shared how her journey with Parkinson’s began when she noticed numbness in her left foot. Soon, her hand started shaking, and her arm stopped swinging when walking. But it wasn’t until a visit to the doctor that she was told, “You’re having anxiety. You’ll be fine.” Despite being told it was anxiety, she insisted on seeing specialists, and after a long wait, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

In the emotional TODAY interview, Terry Crews expressed his unwavering support for his wife, saying, “This is why you get married… This is the battle we were designed to fight together.” The couple has been through a lot over the years, including Rebecca’s battle with cancer, and now, Parkinson’s disease.

Terry’s words reflected their bond, with him stating that where one is weak, the other is strong — a testament to their nearly 37-year relationship built on mutual strength and support.

Rebecca recently underwent an FDA-approved treatment procedure, a bilateral focused ultrasound, aimed at alleviating her Parkinson’s symptoms. The procedure used ultrasound waves to target specific areas of the brain related to movement and has already shown improvement on one side of her body. Rebecca expressed relief saying, “I’m able to write again for the first time in years.” However, she’s looking forward to the second procedure in September to treat the symptoms on the other side of her body.

Rebecca shared her decision to speak out about her diagnosis now, explaining that she didn’t want people to feel sorry for her. Instead, she hopes her story will give hope to others living with Parkinson’s. “I believe this procedure is the new frontier of medicine, and we’re going to find a cure.”

The Fight for a Cure

The courageous couple hopes that advancements like this will lead to a brighter future for those battling Parkinson’s disease. Rebecca’s message is clear: “We’re going to find a cure, and I’m sharing my story to give hope.”

Terry Crews, who will return to his hosting duties for AGT this summer, stands by his wife’s side as she navigates this new chapter. As they face their challenges together, their story is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the power of medical breakthroughs.
