In a shocking revelation during a Los Angeles divorce trial, Ioan Gruffudd, the Fantastic Four star, claimed that his ex-wife, Alice Evans, was begging fans for money through a GoFundMe campaign while secretly holding $100,000 in her bank account.

The 52-year-old actor, who is seeking to end spousal support payments altogether, testified that Evans, 57, had launched the GoFundMe account after their 2021 split, claiming she was broke and struggling to support their two daughters, Ella, 16, and Elsie, 12.

However, Gruffudd claimed that at the time, she was living rent-free in the family home and that he was covering all her expenses, including the mortgage. According to him, Evans had approximately $100,000 in her account at the time, despite her claims of financial hardship.

Evans previously claimed on social media that her life had fallen apart, leaving her unable to afford food or basic necessities. Yet, Gruffudd pointed out that she was not only living in the family residence but that he had been paying for everything.

The latest twist in the divorce trial came just weeks after Evans was slapped with a five-year restraining order following claims of harassment and abuse against Gruffudd and his new wife, Bianca Wallace. Gruffudd is now asking the judge to permanently cut off spousal support, citing Evans’ continued violations of a previous restraining order.
Further testimonies revealed that Evans had withdrawn nearly $90,000 from a joint account she shared with Gruffudd, funneling it through the children’s nanny, claiming it was for the nanny’s medical treatment. However, Evans denied using the nanny to hide the funds.
While Evans has struggled to find consistent acting work, citing her age and an autoimmune disease, she does earn money attending fan conventions, where she can make up to $12,000 per weekend. However, she admitted that she hasn’t pursued work outside of acting and her various fan engagements.
Evans, who continues to rely on “gifts from family, friends, and fans,” has yet to find a consistent income source that supports her lifestyle, which includes nearly $3,000 in rent and over $1,700 for groceries each month.
Meanwhile, Gruffudd’s legal team is pushing for an end to the ongoing support payments, claiming Evans has received nearly $400,000 in overpayments already.
As the trial continues, the public’s interest in the case grows, with many wondering whether this dramatic divorce will finally come to a close.
