Loose Women viewers have spent the past week asking the same question: where has the popular daytime show gone?

After suddenly disappearing from ITV’s daytime schedule, many fans were left wondering whether the long-running panel show had been cancelled. Why has Loose Women disappeared?

Under the broadcaster’s revised daytime strategy, both Loose Women and Lorraine will no longer air throughout the entire year.

Rather than appearing almost every week as they previously did, Loose Women will now broadcast for 30 weeks annually, meaning it will be off screens for 22 weeks each year.

The current absence marks the beginning of the show’s newly introduced extended summer hiatus.

Kaye Adams’ cheerful farewell

During the final episode before the break, Kaye Adams made sure viewers knew exactly what was happening.

As a school bell rang through the studio, she smiled and declared:

“Class is over! Ding, ding, ding, that’s the bell gone. That’s the bell for the end of term. For us as well, we’re done for the summer.”

Although the announcement confirmed the panel would be away for several weeks, Kaye quickly reassured loyal fans that the break wouldn’t last too long.

She added:

“We will not be gone for long, we will be back in September. For now, have a fabulous weekend, a fabulous summer and we’ll see you very soon!”

When will Loose Women return?

ITV has not officially confirmed an exact return date.

However, the programme is widely expected to resume on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, following the August Bank Holiday weekend and as schools across the UK return after the summer holidays.

Until then, This Morning will continue filling the lunchtime slot, giving viewers an extra hour of lifestyle features, celebrity interviews and topical discussions each weekday.
