Davina McCall has shared some incredibly emotional and uplifting news with her fans: she’s been given the all-clear from breast cancer. The 58-year-old TV presenter, who underwent surgery and radiotherapy earlier this year, opened up on her podcast Making The Cut about the results of her checkup, revealing that the cancer is gone.

Speaking candidly about her health journey, Davina explained how she felt going into the appointment: “I went to have a checkup on my boobs the other day, and obviously, it was a serious day, quite heavy,” she said. “But it was all clear, just letting everyone know. Good news, good news.”

In October last year, Davina discovered a lump in her breast while working on The Masked Singer. This led to a lumpectomy, followed by five days of radiotherapy in January, which she described as a precautionary “insurance policy” to prevent the cancer from returning.

What was supposed to be a nerve-wracking appointment turned into something much lighter thanks to a quirky credit card wand she had bought after seeing it on social media. “I went to pay my bill and tapped my wand, and literally, people were beside themselves. I thought, this heavy day has become very joyful and funny,” she shared. The unusual wand, which looks like something from a fairy tale, helped lift her spirits during a challenging day.

Davina’s diagnosis came just one year after she had surgery to remove a rare brain tumour, which had been discovered during a routine health check-up. She recalled how the timing felt like “being punched in the face by the universe,” as she had already battled so much.

Through both health scares, Davina has remained positive, even getting advice from her husband, Michael Douglas, who has been by her side throughout the entire process. “He said, ‘If you were angry, it’s okay. You can be angry,’” Davina explained, laughing as she described a therapeutic pillow punching session.

Despite facing two major health battles in a short amount of time, Davina’s journey has been one of strength, resilience, and the power of a supportive family. Her cancer was caught early, and after her lumpectomy, she learned that the margins were clear, with no signs of the disease spreading to her lymph nodes.

Now, with her health on the mend, Davina has made significant changes to her lifestyle, including reducing her workweek to four days to better manage stress and take care of her well-being. She continues to urge others to prioritize their health and get checked if they notice anything unusual.

In her latest update, Davina expressed her gratitude for the support she’s received and emphasized the importance of early detection. “Just check, if you’ve got something, go get it looked at. It takes seconds,” she said, encouraging her audience to take action.

As Davina reflects on her journey, she’s now focusing on her next chapter, both personally and professionally. It’s clear that this strong and inspiring woman is embracing life with even more determination and positivity after overcoming two significant health challenges.
