In a candid video shared with her fans, Emily MacDonagh, 36, the wife of singer Peter Andre, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with shingles. In a heartfelt post, the doctor explained the painful symptoms she’s been experiencing, hoping to raise awareness about the condition. 😢

Emily shared her unexpected diagnosis on Friday, describing how she noticed an odd pain under her arm before a rash appeared on her back. “I didn’t expect this at all, but hopefully sharing this helps raise awareness for anyone unfamiliar with shingles,” she said in her video.
Wearing a cozy pink wool jumper, Emily went on to describe how the pain started and her shock at the diagnosis. “It’s definitely not something I expected to be dealing with, but I hope this helps others who might not know what to look for,” she added. “I’m hoping to start feeling better soon and get back to myself.” 💪

Fans flooded her post with well wishes, showing their support as she shared her health update. One fan commented, “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Emily, and thank you for sharing this important information.”
Shingles, caused by the varicella zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox, stays dormant in the body after an initial infection. If a person’s immune system is weakened, the virus can reactivate as shingles.
Emily, married to Peter since 2015, is also a busy mum to their three children, Millie (12), Theo (9), and Arabella (1). Despite their high-profile lives, the couple keeps their youngest children largely out of the public eye.
Earlier this month, Emily opened up about how she and Peter handle pocket money for their kids, revealing they give £1 a week and reward chores with extra money. While some of her followers thought the amount was a bit “stingy,” Emily explained that she wants her children to learn the value of money and not expect rewards for every task.
