Fearne Cotton’s split from Jesse Wood appears to have marked the end of more than just their marriage.
Jo Wood, the former wife of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood and Jesse’s stepmother, has revealed that she has not spoken to the TV presenter since the couple went their separate ways in 2024, saying Fearne quietly distanced herself from the entire family as she embraced a new chapter.
“She Never Called Any of Us”
Speaking candidly on the Suddenly Single podcast, Jo admitted that all communication ended after Fearne and Jesse’s divorce.
“I haven’t spoken to Fearne since,” Jo revealed.
“She didn’t call any of us – nothing. I figured that she wanted to start a new life with a new man, and I thought that’s fine.”
The comments offer a rare glimpse into what happened behind the scenes following one of British entertainment’s most unexpected celebrity breakups.
Although the silence surprised her, Jo insisted she holds no resentment toward Fearne.
No Bad Feelings Despite the Distance
Rather than criticising her former daughter-in-law, Jo spoke warmly about Fearne and said she completely understands why people’s lives sometimes move in different directions after a relationship ends.
“I’ve got nothing against Fearne. I think she’s lovely, and I understand that when you fall in love with someone you can’t help yourself.”
She added that she’s genuinely pleased to see Fearne happy.
“I’m very happy for her.”
The heartfelt comments suggest there is no ongoing feud—just two families whose paths naturally drifted apart after a major life change.
Both Have Moved On
Fearne and Jesse were married for ten years and share two children together.
During their marriage, Fearne was often seen attending family events alongside Jo, with the pair appearing to enjoy a close relationship.
However, following the divorce, both Fearne and Jesse have started new chapters in their personal lives.
Fearne has been in a relationship with filmmaker and television director Elliot Hegarty since 2025, while Jesse was linked to former Made In Chelsea personality Gemma Gregory last year.
Jo Still Cherishes Her Family Role
While discussing life after divorce, Jo also spoke affectionately about her grandchildren and the nicknames they have for her.
“Jesse’s kids call me Grandma Jo and my kids call me Gangster Granny.”
