Gemma Collins has revealed her mum Joan was rushed to hospital after falling ill with pneumonia, leaving the I’m A Celebrity star “so worried she couldn’t sleep.” The 45-year-old Towie favourite shared heartfelt updates with fans as she visited her mother, describing the ordeal as incredibly stressful.
Taking to Instagram, Gemma wrote: “Sending my mummy so much love. She has caught pneumonia but she is doing well. Thank you to all the wonderful nurses and doctors for looking after her.” She also admitted: “Was lovely to have a laugh with her today – no day is ever promised. Couldn’t sleep last night with worry.”
Joan, who has often appeared on TV alongside Gemma and built her own fanbase, has faced numerous health challenges in recent years, including breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. Gemma’s posts included touching memories, even sharing an old video of her mum during a shopping trip, writing: “Please God we will be back together soon shopping.”
The star previously described hospital stays as some of the “toughest of her life,” particularly when Joan spent five weeks under medical care before Christmas. Despite the stress, Gemma remains by her mother’s side, celebrating small moments of joy and recovery, showing the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter.
