Fans of Gogglebox finally have answers after noticing one familiar face missing from the sofa.
Raza Siddiqui has been hospitalised following a frightening fall that left him with cracked ribs — a painful injury that forced him to step back from filming at the start of the current series.
Why Viewers Didn’t See Him on the Sofa
The Siddiqui family — Raza, brothers Umar and Baasit, and their father Sid — have been part of Gogglebox since its very first series in 2013, becoming one of the show’s most loved families thanks to their warmth, humour and close bond.
So when the new season began without Raza, viewers immediately noticed — and worried.
On Tuesday, the family addressed the concern directly on Instagram, confirming that Raza had suffered a fall “a few weeks back” that resulted in cracked ribs, making filming impossible during his recovery.
Hospital Photos — And a Message of Relief
Alongside their update, the family shared reassuring photos: one showed Raza smiling bravely from his hospital bed, while another captured a tender moment at home as he cuddled his nephew Theodore on the sofa.
In their message to fans, they wrote:
“For you eagle-eyed Goggleboxers, you may have noticed that Raza hasn’t joined us on the sofa so far this season.
Sadly, he had a bit of a fall and cracked some ribs. He’s recovering nicely and will be joining us on the sofa in a few weeks’ time.”
They added that despite the pain, Raza’s spirits have remained high.
“He’s absolutely smashing his recovery — staying positive and keeping himself entertained with walks, telly, reading and plenty of nephew cuddles.”
‘Bigger Than Morphine’
The family ended their post with a line that perfectly captured the affection fans feel for the Siddiquis:
“We know you guys reaching out and sending your well wishes will put a bigger smile on his face than morphine ever could.
Can’t wait for all four Siddiquis to be back on team @c4gogglebox.”
