The 61-year-old Today alum shared heartwarming snaps of the former couple enjoying dinner with their daughters, Haley, eight, and Hope, six, reigniting rumors that they may be rekindling their relationship.
The photos, shared on Instagram, feature Joel, 67, smiling alongside the girls, with one image showing the family gathered around the dinner table. “Our decision to part wasn’t one that we took lightly, but we knew it was the right one,” Hoda wrote. “It came from a place of love, not anger, which makes a big difference.”
In her memoir, Hoda also delves into their journey to adopt their daughters. She recalled telling Joel about her desire to adopt a year into their relationship, and Joel’s enthusiastic response was unforgettable. “Joel looked me in the eye, and without blinking, replied, ‘I don’t need a minute, and the answer is yes.’”
Hoda revealed she was overcome with emotion, recalling, “I literally fell onto his chest and wept. I sobbed, my tears a huge release of relief and gratitude. It was one of the first times I said the word ‘adoption’ out loud.”
