Amanda Holden has candidly admitted her regret over her affair with actor Neil Morrissey, which ended her marriage to Les Dennis. But in a revealing interview, she insists, “All women cheat for a reason.” 
The TV personality and Dennis, who were married between 1995 and 2003, saw their relationship falter when Holden’s affair with Morrissey, known for Men Behaving Badly, came to light. They separated in 2000, and their divorce was finalized in 2003.
Holden, now 52, shared her emotional journey, describing the aftermath of the affair as the “worst time of her life.” In a 2009 interview with The Express, she said, “I found the fall from grace incredibly hard to deal with. I can’t bear not to be liked. Then I had an affair and overnight turned into this awful person.” 
She further explained her feelings, admitting to the Daily Mail that the guilt was overwhelming, saying, “I brought it on myself, I appreciate that, but nothing will ever be as bad again. It was a very dark time. It got to the point where I felt I could hardly breathe.”
In a twist of irony, Holden said Dennis became her savior after the affair, despite the hurt she had caused him. “Les proved to be my saviour. Ironically. So the person I’d hurt the most in the world was the one who was there for me.”
Though Holden has moved on and married her second husband, Chris Hughes, in 2008, she insists that no one should judge Morrissey. She defended him, saying he was caring and supportive during her difficult time, even cooking for her and looking after her dogs. 
The Britain’s Got Talent judge went on to explain, “I don’t believe women have affairs for no reason. Women don’t seek sex – we seek love and affirmation. If a woman has an affair, there is normally a problem in their marriage.”
Holden’s candid admission comes after a playful interaction between her and Dennis on social media, when she posted a picture from Paris, only for Dennis to humorously share his own image from Leicester, where he’s currently performing in 42nd Street.
