‘It Only Took One Little Egg’: MAFS Star Peggy Rose Defies 1% Odds as She Announces Pregnancy After Heartbreaking IVF Battle

Against staggering odds — and after months of emotional pain — Peggy Rose has shared the news she once feared she’d never be able to tell.

The Married At First Sight UK favourite, 33, has revealed she is pregnant, just weeks after doctors told her she had only a one per cent chance of conceiving following a devastating IVF setback.

From 1% Hope to a Beating Heart

Peggy announced the life-changing news in an emotional Instagram post, confirming a positive pregnancy test — followed by a scan that showed what she described as a “tiny little heartbeat.”

Sharing a tender video with her mystery partner, the couple wore matching caps reading “Mum” and “Dad” as they kissed, marking a moment Peggy admitted felt almost unreal.MAFS UK's Peggy Rose speaks out on Georges Berthonneau split

“I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet,” she wrote.
“It’s been the most overwhelming, emotional, beautiful few days since testing.”

‘It Only Took One Little Egg’

Just two weeks earlier, Peggy had opened up about one of the lowest points of her IVF journey.

After entering hospital with eight promising follicles, doctors were only able to retrieve one single egg — and even then, they couldn’t confirm whether it was mature.

“One egg… one egg,” Peggy wrote at the time. “And they couldn’t even tell me if it was viable. That was heartbreaking.”MAFS UK star Peggy Rose pregnant with 'miracle' baby after emotional IVF journey - OK! Magazine

Doctors estimated her chances of success at just 1–3%.

Yet against all expectations, that one egg fertilised.

“But… you were all right,” Peggy told her followers.
“It only took one little egg! If you’re on this journey, I hope this gives you hope and the strength not to give up.”

‘Still Very Early Days’

Peggy acknowledged she’d been advised to wait until 12 weeks before sharing the news and admitted she was “a little superstitious.” But she chose honesty over silence.

“I promised from the beginning that I would be open and transparent about this journey — the highs and the lows,” she explained.

The couple are now taking things one day at a time, praying future scans continue to show a healthy heartbeat.

“If sharing this helps even one person feel less alone,” she added, “then it’s worth it.”

Years of Fear, Stress and Uncertainty

Peggy’s fertility struggles stretch back years. In 2024, she revealed she hadn’t had a menstrual cycle for five years due to stress-related secondary hypothalamic amenorrhea, admitting she’d likely need IVF to conceive.

“It’s scary,” she said at the time. “But I still want to be a mum.”

After her 2023 MAFS marriage to Georges Berthonneau ended shortly after filming, Peggy focused on her health, her future — and her dream of becoming a parent.

‘One Egg Changed Everything’

Now, after months of injections, hospital visits, tears, doubt and waiting, Peggy’s story has taken a miraculous turn.

From a 1% chance to a positive scan, her journey has struck a powerful chord with fans — proving that sometimes, even the smallest chance can lead to the biggest miracle. 💕
