Jemma Solomon, the sister of TV star Stacey, has found her ambitious dream home plans dashed, costing her thousands. After facing rejection not once, but twice, from planning officials, Jemma’s hopes of transforming her bungalow into a sprawling, multi-level mansion have been crushed.

The 37-year-old, who bought the property for £860,000 in 2024, dreamed of creating her own version of the luxurious Pickle Cottage, made famous by her sister Stacey’s multi-million-pound brand. But officials deemed Jemma’s grand plans ‘disproportionate’ and ‘out of scale’, rejecting both applications for extensive redesigns, which included multiple extensions and a loft transformation. The proposals, which featured a balcony and terrace, were labeled as ‘misleading’ and would have had a ‘bulky roof’ and a ‘top-heavy design’ that clashed with its modest surroundings.

Despite these setbacks, Jemma remains defiant. She has publicly shared her frustration on social media, calling the experience ‘disheartening’ and blaming the system for being ‘based on opinion rather than facts.’ While she’s spent thousands trying to get her plans approved, she still plans to reapply, albeit with little hope of success.

Her attempts to mirror her famous sister’s success with home renovations, however, have drawn criticism from followers, who accuse her of entitlement and thinking she can do whatever she wants to her property, regardless of its impact on the environment and neighbors.

But this isn’t the first time Jemma’s property transformations have raised eyebrows. At her previous home in Kelvedon Hatch, the couple made extensive changes, including a two-storey extension and even a ‘moat’ in the garden, which raised concerns among neighbors. The property was sold for £35,000 less than its asking price.

While Stacey’s Pickle Cottage continues to be a symbol of her £10million lifestyle empire, Jemma’s own home remains a dream unfulfilled, gathering dust in the planning department’s rejection pile.
