But just as the family dealt with this emotional tragedy, their youngest son, Joaquin Consuelos, made a major milestone in his career. On April 9, Joaquin debuted on Broadway in the highly anticipated revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, starring Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf.

Joaquin, 23, played the role of “Young Biff,” and his proud parents attended the opening night to support their son. The proud family gathered together for a celebratory evening as Joaquin marked his theatrical debut.

But amid the cheers and celebration, Joaquin took a moment to share a heartfelt tribute to his late grandfather, Saul, who passed away earlier this month. On his Instagram, Joaquin posted a throwback photo of himself and Saul wearing underwear on their heads, highlighting the close bond they shared before Saul’s death.

“Opening night was a movie,” Joaquin captioned the post, sharing pictures from the event along with his family members. The photo also featured the late grandfather, and Joaquin’s message reflected the overwhelming emotions surrounding his first major role on Broadway.

The post quickly garnered supportive messages from his family. His sister Lola wrote: “I can’t wait to see you,” while his older brother Michael commented: “Too friggin cool!!” Kelly shared her pride, writing: “What a night! What an incredible production! So proud,” and his aunt Adriana added, “So very proud of you! Last photo is my fav.”

Joaquin’s dedication to his craft is evident as he continues to make strides in the acting world. His Broadway debut has added a bittersweet layer to an already emotional month for the family.

Meanwhile, on April 19, Mark Consuelos took to the stage for his own significant night. He starred in the revival of Fallen Angels, alongside Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara, marking another family accomplishment. Despite his grief over the loss of his father, Mark has powered through, finding comfort in his career and the love of his family.

Opening up about the passing of his father on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Mark expressed that performing in Fallen Angels helped distract him from his mourning and gave him the strength to continue, saying, “I knew I had to keep on going, especially during that time. It’s been great. I had such a good time doing it. I know he’s there watching and he’s able to be part of that.”

Kelly, who has always been a pillar of support for Mark, reminded him of the strength he continues to show every day. “You’re the strongest person I know. You continually inspire me every day,” she said on the show. “And all of the good things that I love about you, I loved those same things about your dad.”

Mark’s journey with his father was one filled with pride. Mark shared stories of his father’s work ethic, including his service in the Navy, his education, and his unwavering love for his adopted country, the United States. He described Saul as a prime example of what the American dream means to immigrants, emphasizing his pride in Saul’s remarkable life.

The Ripa-Consuelos family’s week has been filled with both sorrow and joy, as they find strength in one another during these difficult times. From Joaquin’s Broadway debut to Mark’s resilience on the stage, the family’s bond continues to shine through as they navigate the highs and lows of their personal lives.
