Katie Price’s Children Reveal the Heartbreaking Childhood Moments That Still Bring Them to Tears: “I Just Wanted My Mum Back”

For years, the public watched Katie Price battle addiction, mental health struggles and endless personal turmoil. Now, in an emotional new documentary, her two eldest children have shared what life was really like behind closed doors—and their candid memories are heartbreaking.
Appearing in Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, Junior Andre, 21, and Princess Andre, 19, fought back tears as they reflected on growing up during one of the darkest chapters of their mother’s life.
“When She Was There… She Wasn’t Really There”
Following the breakdown of Katie’s marriage to Kieran Hayler, the former glamour model has previously spoken openly about falling into severe depression and struggling with cocaine addiction.
Junior recalled those years as the hardest period of his life.

“That was probably the most difficult time of our lives.”

He explained that while their mother was physically present at times, emotionally she wasn’t able to be there for them.
Instead, he and Princess found themselves looking after one another—and helping care for their younger siblings, Jett and Bunny.
Junior remembered trying to work out how to prepare microwave meals so everyone could eat, despite still being a child himself.
Princess’s Painful Memory
One of the documentary’s most emotional moments came when Princess revealed how she tried to feel close to her mum during the difficult years.
She recalled being given a blanket sprayed with Katie’s perfume before bedtime.
Whenever she missed her mother, she would cuddle the blanket, breathing in the familiar scent while crying herself to sleep because she felt so alone.
The memory left both siblings visibly emotional.
“I Just Wanted My Mum Back”
Junior also described one night that changed everything for him.
After falling asleep while waiting for his mum to come home, he woke in the early hours to hear loud noises downstairs.
Seeing Katie return in an impaired state frightened him deeply.
He said it was then that he realised the unhealthy environment they were living in and began longing for the loving mother he remembered from his childhood.
According to Junior, watching Katie struggle left him questioning his own worth.
He admitted he wondered why she couldn’t get better for her children, saying it damaged his self-esteem and made him feel as though he wasn’t important enough.
Finding Stability With Dad
At just 14 years old, Junior decided to move in with his father, Peter Andre.
He described Peter’s home as the place where he finally found stability again while continuing to hope his mum would recover.
Princess chose to remain with Katie, explaining that she simply wanted to support her mother, even if Katie couldn’t fully understand that at the time.
Katie Price’s Emotional Response
Listening to her children’s memories proved incredibly painful for Katie.
She admitted hearing their experiences “breaks my heart,” acknowledging that although other people helped care for them, children still need the love and comfort of their mother.
Katie also reflected on how severely unwell she had become during that period, explaining that she was struggling to care for herself while battling suicidal thoughts.
Following her highly publicised drink-driving crash in 2021, she entered rehabilitation, later receiving an ADHD diagnosis and beginning the long process of rebuilding her life.
“I Feel Like I’ve Got My Mum Back”
Despite everything the family endured, Junior said he believes his mother has changed.
He expressed gratitude that she sought help, overcame her addiction and is still alive today.
“I feel like I’ve got my mum back,” he said, adding that his family will always stand by her.
However, he also shared one heartfelt wish for Katie’s future—that she learns to find happiness within herself instead of constantly seeking validation through relationships.
The documentary offers one of the family’s most honest conversations to date, showing not only the devastating impact Katie’s struggles had on her children, but also the hope that healing and forgiveness remain possible.
