Susanna Reid Leaves Cat Deeley in Stitches With Hilarious Live TV Joke About Her Dress

A routine ITV handover turned into an unforgettable comedy moment when Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid couldn’t resist teasing This Morning presenter Cat Deeley over her eye-catching outfit.

As temperatures soared across London on Tuesday, Cat, 49, appeared on This Morning wearing a stylish blue floral one-shoulder dress from Marks & Spencer while enjoying an ice cream alongside co-host Ben Shephard.

But before Ben could preview the day’s programme, Susanna spotted Cat’s summery look—and immediately delivered a joke that had everyone laughing.

“It’s so hot, Cat’s dress is falling off!” Susanna quipped during the live handover.

Ben instantly played along, replying with perfect timing:

“Yes, it’s supposed to be.”

Laughing, Cat reassured viewers that nothing had gone wrong with her outfit.

“It’s a one shoulder number,” she explained, embracing the playful exchange.GMB's Susanna Reid left distracted by Cat Deeley's outfit during live show - Liverpool Echo

The light-hearted moment perfectly captured the relaxed chemistry between the presenters, with Ben quickly steering the conversation back to the day’s programme.

“We’re going to be finding out about the viral ice cream makers that you can get. Are they worth the hype? This one certainly is,” he joked, holding up his ice cream.

Cat then linked the conversation back to the ongoing heatwave, saying her fashion choice was actually practical.

“Also, staying with the heat—how do you stop yourself becoming a sweaty mess in the hot weather? A one shoulder helps me! Dr Zoe has the sweat solutions you need.”

Not the First On-Air Fashion Giggle

The playful moment comes just days after another wardrobe-related exchange left the This Morning presenters struggling to keep straight faces.

During a recent fashion segment, style expert Jo Good appeared wearing a transparent plastic rain poncho before joking:

“It’s wet and warm and I’m in a sheath!”

The cheeky remark reportedly sent Cat into fits of laughter, with Ben doing his best to keep the show on track.

The innuendo continued when Cat joked about Jo’s “pussybow,” prompting another witty response from Ben.

“As long as you wear your sheath!” he laughed, before Cat rounded off the exchange with:

“Safety first!”

With their effortless banter and spontaneous humour, the live handovers between Good Morning Britain and This Morning continue to produce some of ITV’s funniest unscripted television moments—giving viewers plenty to smile about before the day has even begun.
