It’s rare for a father and son to have the same job at the same time—but Mark Consuelos and his son Joaquin have done just that, making headlines this spring with their Broadway debuts. 
Mark, known for Live With Kelly and Mark, stars as Marcos Duclos in Fallen Angels, while Joaquin takes on the role of young Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman, his first acting role since graduating college in 2025. The duo recently spoke to The New York Times about the unique experience.
“It took a couple of weeks for us to realize we were going to be onstage at the same time,” Mark said. “It was interesting, odd, and really cool. Joaquin started rehearsals before me, so I leaned on him a little. He’d joke every step of the way, saying, ‘You don’t need to be nervous, Dad. It’s going to be OK!’” 
For Joaquin, the experience was equally special. “It’s definitely a father-son experience,” he said. “It’s something we both wanted to do, and we’re lucky to be doing it at the same time. I’m going to miss it. We have so much to talk about now.” 
Fans have a chance to catch Joaquin on Broadway until Death of a Salesman closes on August 9, while Fallen Angels wraps on June 7, coinciding with the 2026 Tony Awards. Though neither Mark nor Joaquin is nominated this year, insiders suggest this could be just the beginning of more father-son collaborations on the Great White Way.
