Oldham’s very own Kelvin Fletcher has revealed an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at his family’s farm during a surprise appearance on ITV’s Lorraine — and viewers were in for a treat.
The former Emmerdale star, who now lives a very different life in the countryside with his wife and four children, joined Lorraine Kelly to talk about life after showbiz, swapping scripts for shovels, and a big new adventure they’re about to share with fans.
Kelvin opened up about the unexpected transition from acting to farming, joking:
“You couldn’t make it up — from Hollywood to Cheshire! I didn’t plan for this, but it’s funny how life turns out. Now, with our growing family, it’s a lifestyle we never imagined, but one we wouldn’t trade for anything.”
The real surprise came from Kelvin’s wife, Liz Fletcher, who made a special announcement live on air:
“Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be giving Lorraine viewers an exclusive peek into our farm life — what we do day-to-day, how we manage the land, the animals, and raising four young children in the middle of it all. It’s going to be an exciting ride.”
Kelvin then introduced viewers to two of their beloved Lincoln Red cows, proudly calling them the “pride and joy” of the farm. Liz playfully added that one of them has developed more than just affection for Kelvin — calling it an “obsession.”
Raising four children on a working farm hasn’t been without its challenges. Liz admitted:
“Marnie and Milo, our eldest, are such a help now. But the twins? Absolute chaos — adorable, but a liability! We have to be very careful about which jobs they’re allowed to do.”
Despite the chaos, the couple agreed that watching their kids grow up surrounded by animals and nature has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
“It’s so beautiful,” Liz said, “seeing their growing sense of responsibility, even the little ones trying to feed the animals — it’s heart-melting.”
Kelvin added:
“What I love most is how they’re beginning to understand the meaning of hard work, where food comes from, and how much respect and care farming requires. They’re outdoors, breathing fresh air, exploring the world hands-on — I honestly think it’s one of the best upbringings we could give them.”
As the Fletchers prepare to let viewers into their rustic world, fans can expect heartwarming moments, some farmyard chaos, and a lot of love as they expand both their home and their dreams — right in the heart of the British countryside.
