Kerry Katona’s terrifying health scare has left fans shocked after she was rushed to the hospital with suspected stroke symptoms. The Atomic Kitten singer, 45, was with her partner, Paolo Margaglione, and daughter Heidi in London when her daughter noticed something was off with Kerry’s face.
Kerry explained, “I went to the toilet and noticed my face wasn’t right. Heidi said, ‘Mum, what’s wrong with your face?’ I started panicking. I quickly left and went to my hotel to see a doctor.” Soon after, she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, where doctors treated her as if she had suffered a stroke.
“They blue-lit me from St Thomas’ to King’s College Hospital, shining lights in my eyes,” Kerry revealed. “An hour ago, I was watching Molly in a play, and now I’m being treated for a stroke. What the hell?!”
Thankfully, after a CT scan, doctors ruled out a stroke, and Kerry was told that her condition was due to “delayed stress,” a condition that affects the face and speech. “It can come back at any time,” Kerry admitted, adding that she plans to seek speech therapy and exercises to help with her condition.
After the scare, Kerry jetted off to Spain with her family to celebrate her son Dylan-Jorge’s 12th birthday, but promised to seek follow-up care once she returns.
On a brighter note, Kerry shared how her life has turned around since meeting her boyfriend Paolo, 12 years her junior, on Celebs Go Dating. “He’s just one of a kind. I’ve never felt this loved and wanted before. I feel lucky to have found him,” she said, emotional. “I never thought I’d find true love again. But then I met Paolo, and he’s different.”
With a renewed sense of happiness and health, Kerry’s fans are wishing her well on her journey to recovery and celebrating her newfound love.
