Kerry Katona has shared a heartbreaking tribute to Mel Schilling, following the heartbreaking news of her death.
Married At First Sight UK and Australia star Mel died at the age of 54 following her colon cancer diagnosis in December 2023. Mel’s tragic death was announced with a statement on her Instagram account and was met with floods of tributes from her MAFS co-stars and celebrity pals.
And now, in her latest new! magazine column, Kerry has recalled a sweet encounter with the Aussie TV star and paid tribute to the star. Elsewhere in her column, Kerry reveals how her children Max and Heidi’s journey to learning to drive is going after she surprised them with their own car at Christmas.

Kerry also reveals her latest work project sees her reunite with Celebs Go Dating star Paul C Brunson as she returns to his podcast after her emotional interview on We Need To Talk in September. Read the full column, here…
Earlier this week, I went back on the We Need To Talk podcast hosted by Paul Brunson. Last time I went on was in September and I balled like a baby. This time, I did the first half on my own and the other with Paolo. I turned up to the podcast in my pyjamas, a dressing gown and an eye mask because the last time I was there, I was there for 10 hours! The last time I left feeling knackered but this time it was very upbeat so watch this space!

The news of Mel Schillingâs death is heartbreaking. Iâve only met her once â she asked me for a picture at the Beauty Awards. Charlene Douglas said we looked like twins and Mel posted it and she sent me a DM and we had a lovely chat. I had no idea she had been poorly. What I admire about her is what Paul [Brunson] told me, she was constantly working and on the go and she died living. So many people give up but she died living her fullest and best life. But itâs a massive loss and so sad.

I had to go down to London for work last week and I ended up bumping into some old showbiz pals. Firstly, I saw our Jeremy Kyle, who I havenât seen for years. I absolutely adore Jeremy â heâs so lovely. I gave him a big kiss and a cuddle. It was really lovely seeing him. I also saw Piers Morgan too, but he was quite busy so we didnât have a chance to have a chat. Iâve always loved Piers, too.

Max and Heidi are insured on the car I got them both and through Eazy Car Sales for Christmas. So, alongside his private lessons theyâve both started driving us around so I can teach them how to drive at every opportunity we can to make sure they get plenty of practice. Theyâre both so good and doing so well, Iâm very proud! Although there was a moment last week where Heidi was telling me how to teach Max to drive!

Last week I had a pamper session at Heaven Sent Clinics with Robyn Lee Tweakments in Wilmslow. I had a facial and a lymphatic drainage massage because Iâve got lymphedema, which I was diagnosed with in 2023. It was the most amazing massage and facial ever. I felt so relaxed afterwards I could barely talk, I just wanted to go home to bed! My skin looked and felt incredible afterwards. It was the perfect way to unwind ahead of my Abba Mia tour, which, I canât lie, Iâm quite nervous about.
