Love in the Summer Sun — Richard Madeley & Judy Finnigan’s Hand-in-Hand London Stroll Comes With a Surprise 💕🌞

Richard and Judy looked the opposite of moody as they stepped out for a stroll near their home in Hampstead yesterday afternoon

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, one of British television’s most enduring couples, were spotted once again enjoying a romantic summer walk through London — hand in hand, smiles on their faces, and every bit as close as they were nearly four decades ago.

The pair, married since 1986, soaked up the warm sunshine as they wandered through Hampstead. Judy, 70, looked elegant in an all-black ensemble paired with a chic wicker bag, while Richard, 62, kept it casual yet stylish in chino shorts, a fitted white T-shirt, brown leather sandals, and his trademark aviator sunglasses.

While their closeness was clear, it was the choice of locations during their walk that surprised fans. From quiet leafy streets to tucked-away London spots, the couple seemed to be revisiting old favourites — and perhaps creating new memories along the way.

A Career Milestone on the Horizon

This sweet outing comes at a time of career buzz for Richard. As revealed recently, he’s set to join the Good Morning Britain team on a permanent basis after ratings surged whenever he appeared.

The move was reportedly confirmed over lunch at The Ivy in central London with GMB boss Neil Thompson and ITV Daytime chief Emma Gormley.

Viral Moment to Regular Role

Just weeks before, Richard’s interview with Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson went viral, after he cut the minister off for dodging questions. Viewers applauded his no-nonsense style.

A GMB insider said: “Richard polls really well with viewers, and social media always lights up when he’s on. Both ITV and Richard are keen for him to become a regular member of the GMB family.”

He will serve as Piers Morgan’s regular stand-in during Morgan’s frequent holidays and appear one day every couple of weeks. “Viewers love how renegade Richard is,” the source added.

Closing the Gap on the Competition

Good Morning Britain has been closing in on its BBC Breakfast rival, with viewing figures up 12% from last year.

For fans, the sight of Richard and Judy walking arm in arm through London’s summer streets was a reminder that while careers evolve and decades pass, some partnerships only grow stronger — and still hold a few surprises.
