Mel’s battle with cancer has been ongoing, with her undergoing 16 rounds of chemotherapy while also filming MAFS. She had been scheduled to begin a groundbreaking clinical trial in March 2026, but her health took a turn for the worse as her symptoms worsened. After several tests, the devastating news was confirmed: her cancer had spread, and there was nothing more that could be done.

In her post, Mel expressed her gratitude for the support she has received and urged others to listen to their bodies and seek medical advice if something doesn’t feel right. “If something doesn’t feel right, please get it checked out,” she said. “It might just save your life.”

Mel has made the difficult decision to step away from MAFS Australia after 12 seasons, citing ongoing health challenges and the strain of dividing her life between Australia and the UK.

The heartbreaking news has left fans and friends alike offering their support, with public figures like Dawn French and Kerry Katona sending heartfelt messages to Mel.
