Coronation Street‘s Gary Windass faced the fury of other half Maria Connor tonight, as she learned the horrifying truth behind Theo Silverton’s death and his involvement in it.
The episode started off with Gary talking with Izzy Armstrong in the café. Izzy noted that things seemed a little bit off between the couple lately, then Maria walked in and insisted everything was fine – but that feeling didn’t last.
While doing Sally Metcalfe’s hair in the salon, Maria noticed Gary wandering around in the background in one of Sally’s photos from Carla and Lisa Swain’s wedding. She asked Sally to send her a copy.
Over in the prison, Sarah Platt told Kit Green that she wouldn’t implicate Gary, as she “owes him” for coming to her aid when she asked.
Back at their flat, Maria asked Gary “for the last time” if he had anything to do with Theo’s death, and when he denied it again, she pulled out the photo that proved he wasn’t at the builder’s yard all night.
Backed into a corner, Gary admitted how Sarah killed Theo and called him for help, and that he sent a text from Theo’s phone to create an alibi before disposing of the murder weapon.
“She’s made you an accessory to murder!” Maria raged, telling him that his plan to save her failed, as she’s now been arrested. Before they could argue more, Jake and Liam turned up to hang out.
Maria and Gary bottled things up as they headed out for a family meal with the kids, but when Kit saw them all together, he got annoyed.
The two men went outside to confront each other as a furious Maria decided to go home with the boys – and shot Gary a stinking look as she walked past.
Could it be the end of their relationship?
