It looks like reality star Maura Higgins and McFly singer Danny Jones may be forced into an awkward reunion — months after their infamous drunken kiss sent shockwaves through the showbiz world.
The 39-year-old musician, whose marriage to wife Georgia Horsley, 38, was thrown into turmoil earlier this year, shared the now-notorious kiss with Maura, 34, at the Universal Records BRITs afterparty. Reports at the time claimed the pair continued their night until 6am, sipping wine together at London’s Nobu Hotel bar.
Since the scandal, both Maura and Danny have avoided crossing paths. But that could all change very soon. With I’m A Celebrity scoring a staggering 15 nominations at the upcoming National Television Awards, both stars are expected to attend the red-carpet ceremony in September.
The Red Carpet Risk
A source told The Sun: “Danny is expected to attend the NTAs on September 10, just like all reigning jungle winners before him. Maura is also going — she loves the red carpet and will want to make a statement. There will need to be some very clever choreography to keep them apart, but if I’m A Celebrity wins, they could even end up on stage together.”
The insider added that Maura has no intention of addressing the scandal: “She’s put the incident behind her and has nothing to be ashamed of.”
A Scandal That Shook a Marriage
At the time, Danny issued a public apology to Georgia, admitting regret for “putting them in this situation.” The former Miss England briefly moved out of their family home in April following the fallout.
Determined to repair their 11-year marriage, Georgia has since returned home, with sources claiming Danny was willing to do “anything to make it work.”
Family Time and Rebuilding Trust
In recent weeks, the couple appeared united again, returning from a sun-soaked family holiday with their seven-year-old son, Cooper. Danny posted glowing snaps of the trip, showing the family smiling together by the sea, with Georgia beaming from ear to ear.
He captioned one post “Sunshiiiiine,” in a nod to the Oasis gig he attended during the trip.
Earlier in July, Danny and Georgia were also spotted at Wembley Stadium with his mother Kathy, enjoying Oasis’ reunion concert. In a rare black-and-white Instagram picture, the couple looked happier than ever, gazing at each other while Kathy stood smiling between them.
Days later, Georgia shared a heartwarming family gathering photo, writing: “My family are dotted all over the world so getting us all together is near impossible. Days like this are so special. My house was full, my heart happy.”
