In an emotional Instagram post shared on Sunday, Sam assured his followers that he was recovering well after the procedure. He posted a photo of himself in a hospital gown, hooked up to machines, and gave a grateful shout-out to the doctors and nurses at Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Fuster Heart Hospital.

“Thank you Dr. Lerakis and Dr. Sharma and the WONDERFUL team of nurses!” Sam wrote. “I had a nuclear stress test last Thursday, and we found some things that needed to be taken care of, so today I went in for cardiac catheterization. Thanks to these procedures, I’m well and expected to make a full recovery.”

The nuclear stress test, which Sam underwent, helps doctors understand how blood flows to the heart during both rest and exercise. It was after this test that Sam had to undergo a cardiac catheterization, an invasive procedure that checks for issues with heart function and blood flow.

Sam posted another selfie in his hospital room, giving a soft smile and sharing more about his recovery journey. “After: a little work, then back to normal,” he captioned the image.

Fans and fellow stars flooded his social media with messages of support. “SO glad you are okay. We need you around for many more years,” said ABC 7 meteorologist Dani Beckstrom. Al Roker from Today commented, “Glad you’re on the mend, my friend.” Meanwhile, WABC-TV’s Nina Pineda praised Sam for highlighting the importance of health monitoring for both men and women.

Sam’s husband of 14 years, Rubem Robierb, also shared his love and support with emojis in the comments.

Earlier in October 2024, Sam had also opened up about his previous battle with skin cancer, revealing that he had undergone treatment for basal cell carcinoma after being diagnosed at 26. His openness about his health struggles has continued to inspire many.
