Rebekah Vardy Opens Up on ‘Tough’ Move Abroad and Emotional Fresh Start for Family

Rebekah Vardy has revealed the emotional journey behind her family’s move to Italy, describing it as a “fresh start” after years of life in Leicester. The move comes as she prepares to launch her new ITV reality show, The Vardys, which gives viewers an intimate look at life with footballer husband Jamie and their children, including Sofia, 12, Finlay, 9, and Olivia Grace, 6.

Speaking to ITV, Rebekah admitted that moving abroad was a “tough” decision. “Nobody had prepared me for that,” she said. “The biggest challenge was balancing the excitement of a completely new adventure with the emotional reality of leaving behind a life we’d built over more than a decade.”Jamie and Rebekah Vardy ITV press photo

The reality series arrives nearly six years after the infamous Wagatha Christie feud with Coleen Rooney, which saw a court battle over private Instagram stories. Rebekah hopes the show will let people see the reality of her family life beyond the headlines. “For years, people have formed opinions about us from online or press stories, so this felt like an opportunity to let people see the highs, the difficult moments, the humour and the madness of family life,” she explained.Coleen Rooney warns Rebekah Vardy: 'I'm ready to drop more truth bombs'

Despite the challenges, Rebekah emphasised that the move was approached as a family decision, not solely Jamie’s career choice. “We knew there would be difficult days, culture shocks and moments of stress but we also saw it as an opportunity to grow together, experience something new and create memories we’d never have otherwise,” she added.Jamie and Rebekah Vardy to be subject of 'rare and revealing' reality show | Westmeath Independent

For Rebekah, home is not bricks and mortar — it’s “simply where my favourite people are.” While Italy represents a major change, she remains focused on keeping the family close, embracing the new adventure, and sharing their journey with fans in the upcoming show.
