In the wake of his heartbreaking split from wife Mindy after 28 years, Richard Hammond is starting fresh by purchasing a massive £2million bachelor mansion. The former Top Gear host has left behind the couple’s Bollitree Castle in Herefordshire and has now settled into a beautiful Georgian manor house in Wales.

This new residence, purchased without a mortgage, is a six-bedroom paradise, complete with a tennis court, wine cellar, conservatory, a lake, and even outbuildings perfect for housing cars — something Hammond, a car enthusiast, will surely appreciate. The house also boasts a sweeping staircase with an electric stairlift. It’s the ideal retreat for the former “Hamster” of Top Gear after what’s been a difficult year.

After separating from Mindy in January of last year, Hammond has been keeping a low profile, but he’s slowly becoming a regular face in his local town, often spotted shopping in Waitrose, where locals have shared how settled and happy he seems. One fan noted, “It’s great having a celebrity face in town.”

However, the past year has certainly not been easy for Hammond, who described it as his “year from hell” after the death of his father and the breakdown of his marriage. On top of that, his car workshop, The Smallest Cog, faced severe financial struggles, leading to a fallout with his business partner.

Hammond also recently auctioned off some of his old cars, raising more than £50,000 to help clear debts. Despite this, he managed to secure the manor for a discounted £1.99 million, which had originally been listed for £2.25 million.

Hammond’s personal life and career have been turbulent, but it seems like he’s looking forward to a new chapter in his stunning new home. And though his recent appearance wishing Lewis Hamilton good luck at a Ferrari event raised eyebrows, it appears that Hammond’s resilient spirit remains unchanged.

Stay tuned for more details as Richard Hammond takes on this new chapter of his life.
