Rylan Clark has finally spoken out about the new Strictly Come Dancing hosting trio – and he couldn’t be more supportive.
The TV presenter, 35, was a fan favourite to take over after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down, but the coveted role went to Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe. Rylan had joked about missing out at the time, sharing his iconic crying meme from his X Factor days.
Now, speaking to Metro, Rylan made it clear he’s “over the moon” for his friend Emma. “She’s perfect for that job. And Jojo, who I absolutely adore – his talent is ridiculous. And Josh, I’ve always got on really well with him,” he said.
He added: “I think it’s going to be absolutely amazing. It’s a new era for Strictly, and anyone stepping into Tess and Claud’s shoes has to have big balls. But with the power of three, they’ll have a lovely time.”
The trio expressed their excitement in interviews, with Emma calling it “an honour” to step into the ballroom and guide the show into a new chapter. Jojo Radebe said he was “ready – sequins, nerves, and all” to carry on the show’s legacy, while Josh joked about dusting off his penguin costume from the 2024 Christmas special for inspiration.
Fans will see the new hosts in action this series, marking a bold shift for the beloved BBC dance show as it embraces fresh energy while keeping the glitter and glamour alive.
