Stacey Solomon set the record straight about her marriage to Joe Swash on Wednesday’s This Morning, after being spotted without her wedding ring. Fans have been buzzing with speculation, but Stacey was quick to clear up the rumors.
The X Factor star, 34, appeared on the ITV show to discuss her upcoming role on Britain’s Got Talent, where she’s stepping in for head judge Simon Cowell after he took a fall. But when the conversation shifted to her relationship, Stacey was asked about the recent sighting of her without her wedding ring.
Ben Shephard, one of the presenters, questioned Stacey: “There are these crazy rumours going on about the two of you at the moment… What’s going on there, Stace?”
Stacey responded with a smile: “What are they? Go on, there’s a new rumour each week!” When Ben pointed out that she had been seen without her ring, Stacey joked, “Do you know what, I’m terrible. I don’t read any of that stuff. In fact, does anyone anymore?” She then added: “But yeah, we just… Have I not been wearing my ring? Probably took it off to go to the toilet or something.”
When Ben teased that there might be some issues because of Joe’s lake project, Stacey responded playfully, “Maybe I dropped my ring in the lake… with our marriage!”
Stacey and Joe first met in 2010 on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but didn’t start dating until 2016. They moved in together two years later and got engaged in 2020 before tying the knot in 2022. Together, they share children Rex (6), Rose (4), and Belle (2), along with Stacey’s sons from previous relationships: Zachary (17) and Leighton (12). Joe also has a son, Harry, from a previous relationship.
Despite some tensions in their relationship, which were aired during the recent series of Stacey & Joe, where they were seen arguing, the couple has been open about their struggles. In one episode, Joe ‘disappeared’ for the day, and Stacey ended up hanging up on him during a heated parenting disagreement. The couple has admitted that while their relationship isn’t perfect, they want to show the real ups and downs, not just the Instagram-perfect moments.
In an exclusive preview of Britain’s Got Talent this weekend, Stacey will join the star-studded panel, and she couldn’t hide her excitement as she watched a male dance group perform. The dancers’ antics, including sticking their tongues out while performing, led to a funny moment where Stacey imitated the move and jokingly gave feedback.
Talking about her BGT experience, Stacey said, “I loved it. I could really connect with the people on stage, because it’s not easy to put yourself out there. This job has been amazing… I get to sit in a chair, get my makeup done, and wear a nice dress!”
Ben pointed out that while Stacey’s known for her X Factor days, she hasn’t performed much since. Stacey admitted, “I find it really scary. I get nervous before every performance. Even on tour, I never really got over the nerves.”
