Tess Daly has been seen wearing her wedding ring in New York just weeks after announcing her separation from husband Vernon Kay, sparking fresh emotional attention around the couple’s 22-year marriage.
The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter is currently visiting her daughter Phoebe in the US, sharing a series of heartfelt Instagram posts under the caption: “NYC with my best girls.”
While most of the photos kept her hands out of view, one final set of images — taken outside NBC studios — showed a quieter, more telling detail. Dressed in a sleek all-white outfit as she pointed towards the famous NBC sign, Tess’s left hand rested naturally by her side… and the wedding ring was still clearly visible.
The moment has not gone unnoticed by fans, coming only weeks after Tess and Vernon confirmed their shock split in a joint statement posted on Instagram in May. After 22 years of marriage, the pair described their separation as an “amicable” decision made with “mutual understanding” and a continued commitment to co-parenting their two daughters, Phoebe and Amber.
Despite the breakup, signs of warmth between them still remain. Vernon recently left a supportive comment on Tess’s social media post, writing: “What a few days” alongside heart and fire emojis. The pair have also reportedly been seen spending time together socially since the announcement, including at a recent Pub in the Park event, where they were said to be dancing and enjoying the evening with friends.
According to reports, Vernon has also been spotted still wearing his own wedding ring in public — suggesting that while the marriage has ended, the emotional connection between them has not fully faded.
For Tess, the New York trip also marks a period of transition. She has stepped back from hosting duties on Strictly Come Dancing after many years fronting the series, closing a major chapter of her television career.
As she spends time with family in New York, one small detail — a ring still on her finger — is quietly telling a much bigger story: of change, reflection, and a bond that still carries echoes of the past.
