Tom Hardy, known for his role as the menacing Venom in the Marvel film franchise, left fans in awe as he flaunted his incredible tattoo collection while soaking up the sun on a family vacation in Barbados with his wife, Charlotte Riley.
The actor, 48, was spotted shirtless in a pair of UFC shorts as he strolled along the beach and took a dip in the turquoise waters. His upper body was covered with over 30 tattoos, each telling a personal story, from milestones in his life to people and places he holds dear.
Prominently displayed across his torso was the phrase padre fiero – “proud father” in Italian – along with a Union Flag on his chest and a tribute to his best friend’s father in the form of a Marine Corps number. Fans were quick to notice the Leo knows all tattoo on his bicep, a playful nod to a bet he lost to Leonardo DiCaprio after the actor correctly predicted Tom’s Oscar nomination for The Revenant.
In true Tom Hardy style, he sported a full beard, black aviator shades, and looked completely at ease as he applied sunscreen while lounging on a sunbed with his wife, who was in a mismatched black bikini. Charlotte, 44, went makeup-free and wore her hair in a casual bun, completing the effortless beach look.
The couple, who met while filming Wuthering Heights back in 2008, appeared more relaxed than ever as they paddled in the sea, chatting and laughing in between family moments.
Their love story has since blossomed, with Charlotte giving birth to their first daughter in 2015 and their son three years later. Tom is also a stepfather to Charlotte’s son, Louis Thomas, from his previous relationship. The couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary this year and often share adorable glimpses of their life together. 
In a recent interview, Charlotte revealed that the way Tom won her heart was through something as simple as a perfect cup of tea, saying, “When somebody can give as good as they get, you know you’re in for a good time.” She also recalled a hilarious moment from filming Wuthering Heights when Tom couldn’t stop laughing at her northern accent while delivering a key line from the film. 
As the couple enjoys a well-earned break in the sun, fans can’t help but wonder what’s next for the pair – with Charlotte starring in the BBC drama Babies and Tom currently filming for Guy Ritchie’s Mobland.
