While the world was waking up to one of the most electric moments in Olympic history, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were already glued to the screen — together, start to finish.
Speaking on the latest episode of New Heights, the Kansas City Chiefs star gave fans a rare, personal glimpse into their quiet Olympic morning in New York — one that turned unforgettable.
“We watched the entire game”
Kelce, 36, told his brother Jason Kelce that he and Swift tuned in right at puck drop, around 8 a.m. ET on February 22, to watch Team USA men’s hockey face Canada in the Olympic gold-medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
“Me and Tay watched the entire game, man,” Kelce said.
“From the first drop of the puck — that game was nonstop action.”
What followed was a tense, edge-of-your-seat showdown that ended in a 2–1 overtime victory — the United States’ first men’s hockey gold medal since the 1980 Miracle on Ice.
“I loved every bit of it,” Kelce added. “That s— was epic.”
The golden goal that made Kelce explode
The moment that sealed Olympic history came in overtime, when Jack Hughes slipped the puck between the legs of Canada’s Jordan Binnington, igniting celebrations across the U.S. — and in Kelce’s living room.
“I just f—ing exploded when I saw ol’ Jack Hughes put it right between the legs,” Kelce said.
“That was insane.”
Kelce and Jason also marveled at Hughes’ grit — including the missing front tooth he played through after taking a stick to the face earlier in the game.
“It looked like he had lost that tooth once or twice before,” Travis joked.
Respect for Canada — but USA on top
Despite the patriotic adrenaline, Kelce made sure to acknowledge the opponent.
“Shout out to Canada too, man,” he said.
“That team is stacked.”
Jason echoed the sentiment, praising hockey’s unmatched intensity on the Olympic stage.
“There’s just something about hockey — playoff hockey, national hockey — when guys are going all out, it’s the most fun sport to watch on the planet.”
Still, when the dust settled, the verdict from the Kelce brothers was unanimous.
“USA… hockey capital of the world,” Jason said.
“Men’s and women’s. Gold medal.”
Just three days earlier, the United States women’s national ice hockey team had also defeated Canada 2–1 to claim gold — making it a double triumph for American hockey.
“Best country on the planet in hockey,” Jason declared.
“I don’t want to hear any arguments.”
A family affair — on and off the ice
The victory carried extra meaning for the Kelce family. February 22 also happened to be Ed Kelce’s birthday, adding another layer of emotion to the day.
And while Travis and Swift watched from home, Jason and his wife Kylie Kelce were on-site in Milan, cheering Team USA on in person at the Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
The Kelce brothers’ Olympic involvement went even further. Travis and Jason donated to help Olympic star Laila Edwards fly her entire family to Italy to witness her historic Olympic debut — a gesture that quietly earned respect across the hockey world.
Taylor Swift, sports fan — confirmed
Though Swift didn’t speak publicly about the game, Kelce’s comments reinforced what fans already suspect: when it comes to big moments, she’s all in.
From NFL sidelines to Olympic gold-medal mornings, Swift continues to show up — not for cameras, but for the experience.
Quiet couch.
Early alarm.
History unfolding live.
Final word: a private moment inside a historic win
In an Olympics filled with spectacle, this was something different — a reminder that the biggest moments aren’t always witnessed in arenas.
Sometimes, they happen on a couch at sunrise.
Two people watching history.
One goal changing everything.
And a moment that Travis Kelce clearly won’t forget. 🏒🇺🇸✨
