Tulisa has shared a heartfelt health update, revealing she has suffered a Bell’s palsy attack and temporary paralysis, prompting her to cancel her egg retrieval procedure. The 37-year-old singer, who was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy in 2020, opened up about her recent struggles in a candid Instagram post, explaining how a series of “crazy life experiences” contributed to her ongoing health battles.

The singer explained how the stress and hormonal changes she’s been dealing with recently led to her canceling the egg retrieval, despite previous successes. Alongside this, Tulisa has been battling nicotine withdrawals after quitting smoking, and underwent surgery to remove cysts that had been causing swelling and facial issues.

She also shared that the news of her close friend Shelly’s aggressive cancer diagnosis hit her hard, further exacerbating her stress levels. The emotional toll of her friend’s health struggles, combined with the physical effects of her surgery and other challenges, led to Tulisa suffering from Bell’s palsy again.

Tulisa wrote on Instagram: “Trying to turn my insta into a place of authenticity. All that crazy life experience into a bit of inspo & tools for others. Which includes sharing my highs & the lows!”

The singer revealed how her Bell’s palsy attack came after her surgery, explaining, “The news after post-surgery effects/drugs led me to be sick, and the pressure from throwing up caused a Bell’s palsy attack. Left my steroids in Manny but got some within 24hrs, so minor paralysis will last a week or so.”

Despite these health setbacks, Tulisa took the time to reflect on the positives in her life, including her success in overcoming nicotine addiction and the emotional growth she has experienced in recent months. “Nothing compared to what my Shelly is going through. Currently in bed recovering nicely from it all. Less sob story, more reminder we’re all human, going through challenges, even when it looks shiny from the outside.”

The former N-Dubz star also shared that the cysts that had caused her Bell’s palsy were diagnosed after years of seeking answers, and that the condition had worsened when doctors mistakenly attributed it to filler. After having the cysts removed, Tulisa expressed relief that her face was less swollen, and she made the decision to remove filler from her face entirely, now only using it in her lips.

Tulisa’s journey has been full of ups and downs, from her Bell’s palsy attacks to battling sarcoidosis and immune disorders. However, she has used her platform to encourage others to push through their struggles, highlighting how emotional and physical challenges shape who we are.
