Fresh questions have been raised around Wayne Rooney after the married football icon was reportedly spotted partying into the early hours with two mystery women at a raucous pre-BRIT Awards event in Manchester.
The 40-year-old, described by witnesses as “worse for wear,” was seen drinking late into the night at a swanky hotel on Saturday, just hours before the star-studded music ceremony.
According to reports, Rooney appeared unsteady on his feet as he emerged from the hotel toilets, at one point struggling to hold up his trousers, before rejoining a lively group of friends — including pop star Callum Scott.
“People Were Asking What Coleen Would Think”
Photographs obtained by The Sun allegedly show Rooney laughing, drinking and joking with two women for around two hours, prompting murmurs among fellow guests.
One onlooker claimed:
“People who noticed Wayne were saying, ‘What would Coleen think?’ She was nowhere to be seen.”

Another added that the former England captain “didn’t seem to be in a great place,” despite appearing animated and playful during the night.
Late-Night Exit Raises Eyebrows
As the night wore on, Rooney was reportedly seen leaving the venue alongside one of the women. However, sources say the pair eventually departed in separate vehicles, with Rooney getting into a car first at around 3:25am, followed shortly by the woman being collected in a taxi.
Representatives for Rooney have been contacted for comment.
A Marriage Under the Microscope — Again
Wayne has been married to Coleen Rooney since 2008, and the couple share four sons: Kai (16), Klay (12), Kit (10) and Cass (8).
The sighting has inevitably reignited scrutiny of the footballer’s past, following a series of widely publicised scandals earlier in his career.
Just last year, Wayne candidly admitted he believes he “would be dead” if it weren’t for Coleen’s support, crediting her with helping him confront alcoholism and rein in his drinking.

Coleen has previously endured multiple alleged cheating controversies involving her husband — some dating back to his teenage years — yet has largely chosen to stand by him, rarely addressing the claims publicly.
In a 2023 Amazon Prime documentary, she spoke openly about the emotional toll of those years, explaining that her decision to stay was rooted in protecting her family and listening to those closest to her.
“You have to focus on what you want, not what everyone else is saying,” she said.
“My parents always remind me there’s nothing we can’t deal with — if we sit down and face it together.”
