In a heartbreaking appeal, the family of Savannah Guthrie has renewed their urgent request for help in the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie. Nearly two months have passed since the 84-year-old mother was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1. Despite ongoing investigations, police have yet to identify a suspect, and the family’s pain continues to grow.
The Guthrie family, speaking exclusively to NBC Tucson affiliate KVOA, issued a heartfelt plea for the public to refocus on their mother’s case. “We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case,” they shared in a new statement. “Someone knows something, and that key piece could bring us one step closer to bringing her home.”
Authorities, working alongside the FBI, believe Nancy was abducted, based on footage showing a masked figure tampering with a security camera outside her home. This chilling video, released weeks after her disappearance, has offered no concrete leads, and police still have no clear suspect.
As the weeks stretch on, the family has continued to make direct appeals, not just to the public but also to the person responsible for Nancy’s disappearance. They are offering a $1 million reward for information leading to her safe return, adding to the $100,000 reward already posted by the FBI.
“We miss our mom with every breath we take, and we cannot be in peace until she is home,” the family said. “We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We are desperate for closure, but we can’t even begin to grieve until she is brought to a final place of rest.”
Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have been using social media to raise awareness, urging the public to look closely at any potential clues. They are particularly asking for any details, no matter how small, that could help piece together the puzzle. “Please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations, or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance,” they said. “No detail is too small. It could be the key.”
As the search continues, investigators have uncovered troubling evidence, including DNA samples and alleged ransom notes, but have yet to pinpoint the identity of the suspect. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, leading the investigation, stated that authorities believe Nancy was specifically targeted, though he emphasized they are still unsure of the exact motives behind her abduction.
The family is holding onto hope, but each day brings more uncertainty. They are now calling on anyone with information to come forward, stressing that every small detail could lead to a breakthrough in the case.
As the search intensifies, the Guthrie family continues to fight for their loved one’s safe return, refusing to give up hope even in the face of such heartbreak.
