Zoe Ball has shared a powerful revelation: her 16-year-old daughter, Nelly, has been diagnosed with ADHD, making her the third member of their family to receive the diagnosis. This comes after both Zoe, 55, and her son Woody, 25, were also diagnosed with the condition, which is characterized by inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Zoe spoke candidly about Nelly’s ADHD diagnosis and how her daughter is now on medication that helps her manage the condition, particularly in school. Zoe explained how learning about her children’s ADHD experiences has helped her better understand her own challenges. “I always bang on about having ADHD,” she said. “It’s been by learning about their situation and how they cope that I’ve learned about my own.”

Zoe shared an insightful story about Nelly’s new coping strategy, saying, “She started doing a thing now where every Sunday night, she will give herself a couple of hours—tidy her room, get her stuff ready for school, put her things away, have a nice shower.” Zoe expressed her pride, saying, “I’ve loved seeing her find this for herself. In the chaos, you appreciate how much a bit of order really helps.”
Zoe herself revealed her ADHD diagnosis in December 2023, and in 2024, Woody opened up about how the condition has helped him become a better DJ. Woody, who debuted at Glastonbury, explained that his ADHD contributed to his unique performance style, saying, “Having ADHD has contributed to my style. It allows the audience to feel it too.”
Despite the fame of their father, DJ Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), Woody has never had formal DJ lessons. Instead, he learned through his own curiosity and the life lessons his father offered. “He would say, ‘You will never be the best DJ, but you can be the most unique,’” Woody recalled.
Zoe also celebrated Nelly’s Sweet 16 in January, sharing adorable family throwbacks on Instagram. Despite her split from Norman in 2016 after 18 years of marriage, they remain close friends and co-parents. Nelly’s birthday tribute was filled with loving memories, including a baby picture of Nelly on the beach in Brighton.
Zoe and Norman have remained supportive of each other, often joking about their “dysfunctional” but loving family, especially during the holidays.
