As tensions in the UAE continue following missile strikes from Iran, Kate Ferdinand has given a heartfelt update on her family’s well-being and their efforts to stay calm amid the crisis.
The 34-year-old influencer and her husband, Rio Ferdinand, 47, have been living in Dubai since August 2025, along with their children — Shae (2), Cree (5), and Rio’s daughter Tia (14). However, recent missile strikes have left the city on edge, forcing the family to take shelter and adjust to a new, frightening reality.

💪 Staying Strong Together
Despite the ongoing threat of missile attacks, Kate shared a glimpse of the family’s underground bunker, where they have been spending much of their time. On Tuesday, she posted a video of the family working out together in their basement gym.
“Good morning. A very hectic but wholesome family workout this morning. Hope everyone is ok,” Kate captioned the post, sharing a red heart emoji. 💖
Kate and Rio have been trying to keep the children calm, and Rio opened up about the stress they have all faced.
“It’s frightening when you hear missiles, planes, and fighter jets… you’re hearing big bombs, and we don’t know exactly what’s going on.” – Rio Ferdinand
🛑 Life Under Lockdown in Dubai

Amid the ongoing conflict, the Ferdinand family is also grappling with a Covid-like lockdown, trying to maintain a sense of normalcy despite the fear and uncertainty around them.
Kate’s latest post came after she reassured fans that they were safe. In an emotional Instagram message, she shared:
“Thank you for all of your messages and sorry for the silence… I just haven’t been able to find the words. We are safe.”
🏠 A Family Adapting to Change
The lockdown has forced the family to adjust to life in an entirely new way, and Kate reflected on how difficult it has been being away from her older children, who stayed in the UK to pursue their football careers.
“I love Dubai, but I miss home quite a lot. It’s hard because we’ve always been together as a family. That’s a huge adjustment,” Kate admitted in a previous interview.
Despite the difficulties, Kate mentioned how Rio has been more present than ever before, describing the time spent together as “refreshing.”
✨ A Fresh Start in Dubai

Though Kate and Rio miss certain aspects of life in the UK, they both agree that moving to Dubai has been a positive change for the younger children. Rio, in particular, has enjoyed being able to spend more time with his family, and believes the education system in Dubai offers new opportunities for their children.
“It feels like a refreshing new chapter in my life,” Rio said earlier this year.
🌍 Safety and Support Amid Uncertainty

As missiles continue to hit Dubai, British expatriates have shared their fear on social media, taking shelter in underground car parks and nightclubs. The Ferdinands, however, have expressed gratitude for the safety and security they’ve found within their home.
In a world filled with uncertainty, Kate and Rio Ferdinand are focusing on staying united, keeping their children calm, and prioritizing family over everything else. 🌟
💬 “Stay safe, and we are all hoping for a calmer evening ahead.” 🌙
