Sharon Gaffka has shared joyful personal news, announcing she is expecting her first child with fiancé Matthew Torbitt, just over two months after the couple got engaged.

The 30-year-old former Love Island contestant took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal the news, posting a series of professionally shot images that showed her growing bump for the first time.
Alongside the photos, Sharon joked: “It’s official — my tummy can’t be hidden anymore.”

One of the standout images showed Sharon and Matthew reading a newspaper featuring an ultrasound image on the front page, with the headline announcing their baby is due in July 2026.
Captioning the post, Sharon added with humour:
“When I thought I was going to be spending my 30th birthday weekend with my head in a toilet… this isn’t quite what I had in mind! Baby Gaffka-Torbitt is on the way.”

The announcement was quickly met with an outpouring of love, with fans and reality TV friends flooding the comments section.
Fellow Love Island stars were among the first to congratulate her. Georgia Harrison wrote: “So happy for you!” while Kaz Kamwi added: “So special!!! Congratulations angel.”
Other well-known names including Liberty Poole, Paige Thorne, Olivia Hawkins and Molly Smith also shared messages celebrating the happy news.

She was immediately flooded with congratulatory messages from her fans and reality star friends, including a slew of fellow Love Island alumni

Matthew also marked the occasion with a playful post on X, combining the couple’s shared interest in politics with humour.
“Breaking News: Matthew Torbitt and Sharon Gaffka are expanding their coalition. Majority expected: 2026,” he wrote.

However, Sharon later revealed via Instagram Stories that the early weeks had been far from easy.
Sharing a throwback photo taken in December, she explained she was forced to cancel plans to celebrate her 30th birthday after struggling with intense symptoms that left her exhausted and emotional.
She wrote:
“Throwback to December, when I’d planned a huge girlie weekend away to celebrate my 30th… but instead I was busy surviving on mash and cans of water.”
In another candid update, Sharon admitted she had felt drained, uncomfortable and overwhelmed, adding that even basic daily routines had become difficult at times.
The baby news comes shortly after the couple’s romantic engagement, which Sharon revealed in December following a holiday in Sweden. At the time, she shared a video of Matthew proposing high above sea level, later writing:
“Decided to pick up a rock when we were 2091m above sea level.”
Fans were surprised by how quickly Sharon’s life had changed, especially as she had only gone public with her relationship earlier this year, having previously kept her private life out of the spotlight.
Unlike many reality TV stars, Sharon has repeatedly said fame was never her main goal. After appearing on Love Island in 2021, she returned to public service and is now a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) activist, as well as an ambassador for domestic abuse charity Refuge.
Matthew, meanwhile, is a familiar face in political circles, regularly appearing on television and radio as a commentator. He is also known for his work as a homelessness and prison reform advocate.
Sharon has previously spoken openly about deeply personal experiences from earlier chapters of her life, choosing to share her story publicly in order to encourage compassion and understanding for others facing similar situations.
Now, as she prepares to welcome her first child, fans have praised her honesty, strength and openness — with many calling this moment a powerful new beginning.
