It’s a change no one saw coming! ITV’s beloved Lorraine and Loose Women have been PULLED from our screens for WEEKS, sending shockwaves through daytime TV fans.

For those used to tuning in for a jam-packed ITV schedule with Good Morning Britain starting your day, followed by Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women, the upcoming changes will be a massive blow.

Starting Monday (March 9), the schedule will be turned upside down. Good Morning Britain will now run from 6 AM to 10 AM, immediately followed by This Morning, which will end at 12:30 PM. As a result, Lorraine (which typically airs from 9:30 AM to 10 AM) and Loose Women (airing weekdays at 12:30 PM) will BOTH be off-air for an extended period.

Step-in host Christine Lampard, who has been filling in for Lorraine Kelly due to her recent health troubles, informed viewers: “That’s all for today, Lorraine will be back in a few weeks’ time. Have a lovely weekend, we’ll see you soon!”

And if that wasn’t enough, Loose Women will also take a break, with Kaye Adams delivering the news at the end of Friday’s episode: “It’s your last Loose Women for a few weeks. But don’t worry, we’ll be back next month! Have a fabulous weekend and Easter, and we’ll see you very soon!”

This news comes after ITV announced that Lorraine and Loose Women would be temporarily axed to make way for the widely anticipated Cheltenham Festival, starting March 10. With both shows removed from the schedule, fans are left with a huge gap in their weekday viewing.

The shake-up also brings fresh concerns about ITV’s ongoing cuts, including the controversial slashing of Lorraine‘s runtime by 30 minutes, now reduced to just 30 minutes from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Sources have revealed that these cuts are part of ITV’s strategy to reduce costs and invest more in drama programming.

It’s been reported that Good Morning Britain will also absorb Lorraine’s 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM slot for 22 weeks of the year, leaving Lorraine to air only five days a week for the remaining 30 weeks.

Meanwhile, ITV’s decision to hand Good Morning Britain over to ITN – the same organization behind ITV News – signals another major shake-up behind the scenes. It’s clear that ITV is betting big on drama, but fans of these much-loved daytime shows may not be too pleased with the changes.

Stay tuned for updates, and don’t miss out on the drama as ITV reshapes its daytime lineup. Will Lorraine and Loose Women return to their former glory, or is this the end of an era?
